Jeff grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. His teachers include Herb Patnoe and Joe Alessi. In 1979, he moved to Los Angeles to attend Long Beach State College, but left before finishing school to tour with Ray Charles. He returned to school in 1982 to finish his degree at USC. Since then, he has been very active in the music scene, working in the studios and doing live gigs. His teachers in Los Angeles include Boyde Hood, Uan Rasey, Bobby Shew, and Claude Gordon.
Jeff is equally at home playing both classical and jazz music. Some of his orchestral credits include The Hollywood Symphony Orchestra, The Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, The Pacific Symphony, The Long Beach Symphony, and The New West Symphony. Some of his jazz credits include the small groups of Horace Silver and Poncho Sanchez, and the big bands of Tom Harrell, Bill Watrous, Jack Sheldon, and Tom Kubis.
His film credits include "Ratatouille", "Dark Streets", "Dreamgirls", "Unaccompanied Minors", "Mission Impossible 3", "The Poseidon Adventure", "The Family Stone", "You, Me and Dupree", "Sky High", "Just Like Heaven", "The Incredibles", and "Finding Nemo". His TV credits include "Alias", "Scrubs", "Line of Fire", "King of the Hill", and "The Simpsons". He has also played on hundreds of television and radio commercials.
Jeff is also a BACH Artist & Clinician.
